Mind Paradoxes

The Ancient Fatigue: Is Your Soul Older Than Time?

4 Min Read

Some people feel tired even as children. Others seem like they have just arrived in the world. According to spiritual beliefs, souls change bodies many times. Do you know how old your soul is? Perhaps some fatigues are not from this life.

Traces of an Ancient Fatigue

Some people are born with a weariness that feels as if they are carrying the weight of centuries on their shoulders, even in the spring of their childhood. In their eyes, there is that familiar, sad, and deep gaze of someone who is not seeing the world for the first time. It is as if this life is merely a short rest stop on a long journey they have embarked upon. This fatigue cannot be explained by lack of sleep. It does not vanish with rest. Because this exhaustion is not etched into your bones, but into the deepest, most ancient layers of your existence.

Although time is perceived as a linear line, the memory of the soul does not accept this line. Feeling as if you know a room even though you have never been there, or searching for a familiar expression on a stranger's face, may actually be proof that time is cyclical. Some souls have been dusted on the shelves of the universe thousands of times, taking on thousands of different forms. This is why some are curious and pure as if they have just arrived in the world, while others carry that heavy, silent wisdom of having seen everything before.

Moments Where Causality Collapses

Questioning which life your soul is in is like crumpling your perception of reality and throwing it away. If this life is not your first, where are the memories of the past hidden? Perhaps those foreign cities you see in your dreams, those old houses you have never visited, are actually memories of a reflection of you from the past. When you realize that the fleeting images appearing in the depths of your mind in a moment of vacancy do not belong to this life, logic fails. Reality remains only as that strange and familiar ache you feel in that exact moment.

Could feeling as if you have just arrived in the world be a sign that the soul is entering a body for the first time? Or have they just succeeded in forgetting very well? Some people are so unprepared for the chaos of life that they seem to be just learning the rules of the game. Others respond to the pains and joys of life with a calm acceptance, as if a chess master already knows the moves. This is a reflex brought by experience, a legacy of survival.

Existence Beyond Time

Ask yourself this question: Why do some places give you peace while others evoke an irrational fear? Perhaps you found peace in those peaceful places before, or experienced a great pain in those frightening ones once upon a time. As your soul wears and sheds your body like a garment, it is actually continuing to write its own story. This story is too long and complex to fit into a single lifetime. You are merely a few lines on the page that is currently open in this book.

Do not look for the source of your fatigue in this world. Perhaps this exhaustion is the residue of an ancient war, a distant farewell, or a long-forgotten love. Even if your body is young, the wrinkles of your soul carry the marks of thousands of years. That is why the deep longing you sometimes feel while looking out a window is actually a desire to return home, to the true homeland of your soul. In this labyrinth where time breaks and logic falls silent, trying to guess the age of your own soul may be the only way to find yourself.
